2011 Information

The 2011 season saw the emergence of the Cecil Club of Chesapeake City.  After winning the Maryland State Championship, the Cecils turned their heads toward the MAVBBL tournament crown.  Overall, Chesapeake City finished in 2nd place but some forfeits lead to a lower seed in the tournament.  In the first round though, the Diamond States from Delaware downed the state champs and moved on to the semi finals to take on the defending champion Brooklyn Atlantics.  The Diamond States gave the Atlantic all they could handle, but the Northern Division champs squeeked out a win in the 13th inning to head to their 2nd straight MAVBBL championship.  On the other side of the bracket, the Talbot Fair Plays waisted little time disposing of the New York Gothams, but then fell in to a match with the well rested Eclipse from Elkton.  Once again Elkton downed Talbot to set up a championship rematch.  The Eclipse got off to a 7-1 lead, but couldn’t hold on as the Atlantics won their 2nd straight championship 13-7.

In divisional play, the Atlantic were a perfect 11-0 to take the northern crown while Talbot was 6-0 and took the Southern Crown.  Elkton won its 3rd straight eastern title with a 8-1 record.  The wild cards went to Chesapeake City, Delaware, and the New York Gothams.
