The 2014 season was the most successful MAVBBL season to date as 23 clubs participated in the League. The league saw the strengthening of the West Chester, Rising Sun and Kennett Square clubs as they competed for the second year and developed in to very fine full member clubs.
The weather in 2014 was excellent as few rain outs occurred during the season. The Elkton Eclipse won over 40 games for the first time in its history just squeeking past The Brooklyn Atlantics by percentage points. The Atlantic as well as the Eclipse and the Chesapeake Nine took home conference titles.
The clubs participated in outstanding tournaments and festivals throughout the year including the Philadelphia Navy Yard Festival, the Old Time Base Ball Festival in Old Bethpage, the Pennock Cup in Kennett Square, the Silver Ball Tournament, the Gettysburg National 19th Century Base Ball Festival, the Cooperstown Festival, and the World Championship of Base Ball in Michigan to name but a few.
As more and more clubs come on board, the League is more than happy to expand and will be expanding in to Ocean County, NJ in 2015 with the addition of the Bog Iron Boys from Allaire Village.
