On Sunday afternoon, Sept. 15, the Chesapeake Nine of Baltimore captured the Inaugural Optimist Club of Occuquan, Woodbridge, and Neabsco (O.W.N.) Vintage Base Ball Tournament, held at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium (home of the Potomac Nationals) in Woodbridge, VA.

 

The Chesapeakes defeated the O.W.N. Optimists in the opener, 21-3, and held on the beat the Old Dominions in the championship match, 7-6.  (The Old Dominions defeated the Potomac Nine to set up the championship context.)  More details on the matches to follow in a separate message.
