Easton, MD–On Saturday July 3 Talbot hosted new division rival Bohemia for two well-played matches. In the first match Bohemia jumped out to an early lead. After several scoreless innings Talbot was able to put some runs on the board and eventually knot the game up at 5. Talbot then manufactured 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning and withstood Bohemia’s effort in the top of the 9th, making the final out on the potential tying run at the plate on a daring steal attempt to hold on for a 9-8 victory. In the second match Talbot pulled out in front early before Bohemia was able to pull ahead. After several lead changes the score was tied at 10 going into the 9th inning. Talbot then scored 4 in the top of the 9th to come away with another win, 14-10.
Elkton 29 Flemington 9
Cape May, NJ– The Eclipse BBC of Elkton traveled by Ferry and by stage coach to visit the Flemington Neshanock at Historic Cold Spring Village just outside of Cape May on Saturday for the Independence Day Celebration in Cape May. Elkton started the fireworks early though and used its power to blast many bombs in to the air at the intimate Cold Spring Village Park. The Eclipse started early and built its lead each inning batting around often against the Neshanock. Historic Cold Spring Village is a rebuilt 19th century working village that was built by salvaging 18th and 19th century buildings from Cape May and Cumberland Counties. Elkton and Flemington will duel it out in a rematch during both of their next matches which will take place Saturday, July 17th in Gettsyburg, PA.
