Expansion/Looking to Play?

Do you live near one of the clubs and are interested in playing vintage base ball?  All of the clubs are looking for ballists to help bolster their rosters.  You don’t need to be a former professional player or a softball all-star to play for the clubs.  All you really need is a love of the history of the game.  Most clubs playing age requirements start at 21 and go all the way up.  Their are members of many clubs in their 50s, and even late 60s!  The more “experienced” you are in age, the more likely you are to “place” the ball in the holes.  It doesn’t take very long to pick up the game, but it may take years to “master” it!  Currently there are clubs in northeastern Virginia in the Manassas area; the Washington DC area, the Baltimore area, the Annapolis/Baltimore area, the Hartford County, Maryland area, the north eastern, MD/southeastern Pennsylvania area; upper Delaware, the lower Eastern Shore, the Philadelphia area, the Central New Jersey region, Manhattan, and Long Island, NY as well as south central Pennsylvania.

Do you not live in one of those areas, but reside somewhere between Virginia and New York?  Consider starting your own club!  The executives from the Mid Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League will help you every step of the way in recruiting players, publicizing your club, finding a field, setting up your schedule and everything in between.  The MAVBBL is particularily interested in starting clubs in the following areas:  Richmond, Virginia; Fredericksburg, Virginia; Lancaster/York, PA; Harrisburg, PA; Gettysburg, PA; Scranton/Allentown, PA; Southeastern, PA (Chester County); and Southern New Jersey.

Special Note: If you are interested in playing vintage base ball in the Gettysburg region, we are currently forming a club there.  Contact us at elktonbase_ball@yahoo.com for more information.  In addition, we are also stocking  a club in West Chester, PA.  If you are interested in playing for the Brandywines, please contact them at BrandywineBBC@gmail.com.  A new club is forming in Rising Sun Maryland and is in need of a few more players.  Chesapeake City, MD is also looking for a couple of more players as well to restock their club.  In addition, players are needed desperately in the Harford County area to re-populate the Havre de Grace Dauntless for the 2013 season.  Anyone wishing to play for the Dauntless will be playing with the Chesapeake Nine until Havre de Grace has enough players to go on their own.

To play for one of these clubs or for more information on starting your own club, contact us at admin@mavbbl.com for more details.
